“Often it seems that we make the landscape. We move things, build and plant. But I think it makes us, moves us, hold us, reveals us to ourselves.”
-Jess Poulsen
‘Sculpted’ is an exhibition of three dimensional forms from ten established and emerging Northern Rivers based artists, who reflect on their environment via space and form.
Sculpture is the art of the intelligence” - Pablo Picasso
Seeking to understand themselves and the world around them through the physical process of making art, all ten artists share a deep attention to their environment – the natural, urban, domestic, emotional, psychological, social, intellectual, spiritual, communicated and remembered – which comes through in the themes of their respective works.
